A 26-year-old cashier who alleges she was raped is appealing to the suspect, identified as Clark David Tejido, to surrender to authorities and face the criminal charges filed against him.

The victim, who is being identified only by the alias “Mabeth” to protect her identity, works as a cashier at a drinking establishment in Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City.

According to reports, she is urging Tejido, described as a newly released ex-convict, to turn himself in to the police instead of remaining at large.

Mabeth said she continues to suffer from severe emotional trauma following the alleged assault. She added that the incident has left not only her but also her family living in fear, especially because the suspect has yet to be arrested.

The victim also appealed to the suspect’s relatives, asking them to encourage Tejido to surrender rather than tolerate or enable his alleged actions. She stressed the importance of holding the suspect accountable through the legal process.

Despite the emotional distress she continues to endure, Mabeth said she remains committed to pursuing the case. She hopes the legal proceedings will result in justice and prevent other women from becoming victims of similar crimes in the future.

In addition to her appeal to the suspect and his family, the victim also called on the public to be responsible when discussing the case online. She urged netizens to avoid making careless or insensitive comments about the incident, saying that she continues to struggle with grief, fear, and anxiety in its aftermath.

The case has drawn public attention, prompting renewed discussions about the challenges faced by survivors of sexual violence and the importance of treating victims with compassion while legal proceedings are ongoing.

As of the latest report, authorities have not announced the arrest of Tejido. Law enforcement agencies are expected to continue efforts to locate the suspect so that the case can proceed through the judicial process.

The allegations remain subject to investigation and court proceedings. Under Philippine law, the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The report was based on information released by Eric Amaro of XFM News.
